Mike Davis
Mike Davis leads the firm’s diverse personal injury practice, representing victims of life-altering and catastrophic incidents in the exacting areas of wrongful death cases and product liability litigation. He is an AV®-rated attorney (Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings) and board-certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
For his excellent legal services, Davis has been named to The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2004; and he has been recognized by Law & Politics magazine’s Super Lawyers every year since 2003.
Davis is an essential part of the firm’s strategic team on business torts, commercial litigation, aviation law and appellate litigation. In addition, he is a trained mediator. Davis’ father, Tom H. Davis, was also one of the firm’s co-founders.
Davis has obtained some of his most significant recoveries in product liability cases against automobile manufacturers and dealerships. His experience includes cases resulting from vehicle rollovers, fires, seat belt injuries and automobile structural failures in collisions.
He also has legal expertise in major cases arising from commercial trucking accidents, cases and trials against major tobacco and chemical companies, and cases involving persons disabled or killed in workplace accidents, equipment failures or chemical exposures. He has done extensive appellate work, particularly on issues involving product liability, discovery and insurance coverage questions.
Active in the legal community, Davis has served on the board of directors of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and has been a state delegate for the American Association for Justice (formerly Association of Trial Lawyers of America). He is past president of the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association (CATLA) and remains abreast of current developments in law through active participation in several legal professional groups.
Davis graduated with honors from St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, where he served as an editor on the law journal. Admitted to the bar in 1979, he began his legal career as a briefing attorney for Justice Franklin S. Spears on the Texas Supreme Court. Outside of his law practice, Davis is a passionate supporter of the Oak Hill Youth Sports Association’s Pony League baseball programs.
